100wordsTitle: Red Sky in the Morning
The puppy whined in confusion and growing anxiety. Something was not right with the mortal realm he suddenly found himself flung into. The sun looked all wrong, both his mother's and the tiny star beside it, his own growing sun. Red-tinged dark tendrils spread across them like some kind of cosmic rot. The greenery was withered in places too, as if the wrongness dripped onto the land. He heard the cries of things that weren't animals, that didn't belong here.
This was the sort of thing his mother dealt with but she wasn't there and, For some reason, he was.
