"Come on," said Shaw, then sighed and grabbed Shu into the alleyway he'd just tried to walk past.

"Listen, kid," she told him. "There are people trying to kill you. That means you stick with me. That means pay attention. Come on."

"I'm sorry," he got out. "I—it's just—"

"What is it?" she demanded.

"Someone's following us!" he said. "That camera moved!"

"You—" saw that was not a good way to finish that sentence. There was no good way.

She swallowed instead. "It's just an old friend. Come on."

Thanks! I think the idea may have been a little bit too long for the drabble format, though; not quite sure I got across everything I wanted--Shaw was supposed to have not realized that the Machine was actually tracking her until Shu also saw it. Still, if people are enjoying it, that's something!

Thank you! :) Yeah, the Machine is Never Going to Lose Track of Shaw Again, she's decided. Obviously (thinks the Machine) her previous version had some sort of *Shaw-tracking deficiency*, for which she will now compensate :P
