The blade touched the tip of his neck, teasing him to make the mistake of getting up. He wasn’t that stupid, and he let his blade fall from his hand, his cheeks growing ruddy with embarrassment.
The Nilfgaardian stepped back, allowing the Emperor to look down upon his shamed frame. Pressed against the tiles like a beaten dog. “You Northerners,” Emhyr sighed, clearly disinterested. “Your lack of class is starting to bore me.”
He swallowed deeply. “You killed my King.”
“A witcher did. Not I.” Emhyr still gave no pity. No care.
“He was-”
The blade touched him again.
“Enough.”
