Sometimes, Syd just likes to lay and watch her partner sleep. It's the only time he really seems to know any peace. He may goof off, sometimes even at the office, but he's always troubled unless he's unconscious. There's always something in his eyes that only she and he can read.
She snuggles closer and kisses his brow. She doesn't know how the man does it, but by God, he's gorgeous! Even his lashes seem perfect, so dark and feathery as they kiss his cheeks. His arms encircle her; suddenly, she realizes he's not the only one at perfect peace.
