His fingers hesitated, halting before they touched the outstretched hand. Something about this was dangerously wrong, he just couldn’t name what or why.
The man merely continued to smile and keep his own hand out, waiting for the contact.
“I…” Roche frowned, studying the merchant again. This ‘Master of Mirrors’. The Man of Glass. “I think I should-”
“Come now, Vernon Roche,” Gaunter O’Dimm said, his voice unsettling. “I can help you if you help me. It’s a simple little task. Nothing you can’t handle.”
He doubted that for a second. Just one.
“I don’t-”
“Don’t make me beg, Roche.”
