He never thought about him after they parted. Anais needed him - Temeria began to burn. There were nights he was sure he was never going to wake from and days where he was certain every breath would be his last. The months blended into one hell and by the time he finally could view a sunrise without gripping his knife, the past was the last thing on his mind.
So when Geralt of Rivia walked into his camp, sporting a beard and a slightly weathered expression, he frowned. He hadn’t forgotten, but he momentarily blanked.
