Once upon a time, there was a dollmaker. People would purchase the dolls he created, filled with wonder at their perfect details.
But our wondrous dollmaker had a deep, dark secret. There was a reason why his creations had such a lifelike appearance, as though he'd merely miniaturized human beings.
Every time the doll man encountered a person he disliked, or believed would not be missed, he would capture them, and then cast a horrid spell. And that person would be transformed into flawless bone china. But they were alive, and lived in fear of being sold, or even shattered.
