Up so far past midnight
Trying just to write right
Yeah, I might be yawning
But inspiration's dawning
When the lights go down
With a smile and not a frown
I quickly get to work
Challenges I don't shirk
I have so much on-plate
The hour might go quite late
But why let it stop me
In bed I'd like to be
But stories want to come
And since I am not dumb
I'll take advantage of
The hobby that I love
Poetry and fiction
I view with affection
It makes me happy, so
Here I will gladly go
