The tremors began again, at the exact same time they always did. As the Director had predicted, they were more destructive than last time, as they had gradually gotten worse each time.
It was no longer a question whether this was normal seismic activity. The surveillance drones were picking up signals from all around the world at once. Some massive energy reaction was occurring deep within the planet.
He'd asked his family to go to the shelter dome when the next quake hit. He wanted to shelter too but somebody needed to be there to record the inevitable end times.
