She can't see them, but she can feel them. The eyes. Hundreds of them, watching every move she makes.

It's terrifying. Her stomach is a bottomless pit of queasy terror, and her palms are drenched in sweat. The twin urges of fight and flight are at war within her.

She doesn't want to do this. But she has no choice. No one else can do what she must; no one else knows what she knows.

Taking a shaky breath, she steps forward, and delivers her lines flawlessly.

And thanks the Muses that she didn't fall flat on her face tonight.
