They had lost. How could it have happened? They were the good guys. The good guys won, they don’t lose. This couldn’t be happening. Not to them. Especially not to her. She was special. Sure, they were all special, but she was really special. The most special. She was the chosen one, or that was what they had told her.
Had they lied? Was anything they had said true? Was she a sacrifice, so that they could win?
She watched her team members march through the square in chains, as each waited their turn to be hanged. All was lost.
