Inspector Slack relaxed in his deckchair and looked out to sea.  He was looking forward to a week of sun, sea and sand.  Then, to his horror, as he watched the other visitors walking along the promenade, he spotted an elderly lady he recognised.  He spent the rest of the week on tenterhooks expecting to find a dead body lurking somewhere.  However, nothing untoward happened, but as he got into the train for his journey home and started to look for a seat, he heard the unmistakable voice of Miss Marple, further down the corridor, saying, “Oh dear, oh dear!”
