“I think this will be the last day we’ll have the beach to ourselves,” observed Adam.
“A good reason to celebrate,” replied Lucas, casting a fond look at Adam before gazing even more fondly into the picnic hamper which was resting on the sand between them.
“And just what have you packed, my love?”
“A surprise.”
“I regret to inform you that at this point in our relationship cake isn’t a surprise.”
“The surprise is whether it is German chocolate or carrot.”
Adam whistled. “That is a surprise.” He sighed and closed his eyes. “Cake by the ocean, what decadence.”
