“Here’s our splendid ocean view, there's our coiffure-tousling sea breeze, nary a wrinkle in our best linen trousers, and this,” I waved a mitt at the pair of triangular confections poised on round slabs of porcelain lying on the table between us, “for our afternoon tea or whatever metaphor the locals have for it.”
“I believe the cake is called Decadence, sir.”
“How did we get so lucky?”
“You are a confirmed bachelor of means, sir, with exceptional taste,” he replied as he proceeded to have his cake and eat mine, too!
