Ky waits for him to let his defenses down, to do anything that vaguely resembles letting him in. Sol doesn't... for a while. He keeps his guard as higher than needed, defenses impenetrable, strong, dependable. It's how they are, and after a while, Ky becomes accustomed to it.

But he pushes and waits, and eventually, the barriers come crashing not through Sol's own volition, but the hatred the world holds for Frederick Bulsara. Ky washes away the debris, helps him, watches Sol fix himself.

He's murky water and hidden blue depth, and the ocean's the hardest thing Ky's ever fought.
