Subier caught Polka glancing back at shore and his floatie, which Liz had helpfully confiscated, and it was all he could do to not get a set of tentacles around Polka's ankles and tug. But that would make it worse, Subier knew. Just because he loved the ocean and wanted nothing more than a life of swimming and surfing and drinking on the shore at dusk...
Well, Polka was different and there was no rushing this.
He wrapped a tentacle around Polka's waist instead, as the water grew deeper. Slowly, slowly--
"Are you ready?" Subier asked.
Polka nodded, slowly.
"Yes."
