The storm outside raged, churning the shark-infested waves up into froth, whipping up winds vicious enough to drag escapees off the tide-battered cliffs to the their doom. Jagged forks of lightning rent the air and thunder boomed, so loud that it sounded like the island was being torn from its shaky foundations in space and time.
As usual, it matched the Warden's mood entirely.
The boat was late. Last time he saw it, it was a rickety mess that wouldn't survive another storm.
It was holding dangerous prisoners. Someone would suffer if they escaped when the boat inevitably went down.
