I think I will give a little warning
I am not a puppet; I have not one string
To be controlled is not just my thing
Pain and dismay are all that can bring
And they make me for the blues to sing
To be at some hateful jerk simpering
Is enough to make me go all simmering
Once, I was just such a dingaling
And that turned me quite into something
I could not understand; I am still not knowing
How I fell for someone else's controlling
So let me make it plain: That way I do not swing
