Spencer's hands drift, always careful to treat him right, and Derek swallows the rotten wilting in his chest. He's frozen up for so long - shied from the touch of another man - that he doesn't know what easing into this feels like.
"We don't have to do this, Derek." Spencer intones with his thumbs circling the peaks of his hips.
"I'm not saying we shouldn't," says Spencer. "I just want what you want."
Spencer reaches in, burying his face in Derek's shoulder.
Derek doesn't know if it's the kindness or warmth, but as Spencer holds him, everything locked away unravels.
