A purple lotus blossomed in the night sky, the Jiang Sect’s SOS disturbing the quiet. For a moment, Wei Wuxian was tempted not to move from his comfortable sprawl on the inn roof. After all, it’d been years since he dared go near Lotus Pier.
Then shame swamped him. And fear. He set his jars of wine aside and climbed back in his room’s window. Lan Wangji was already getting dressed.
“A message,” Hanguang Jun explained. “Sect Leader Jiang has been wounded saving his disciples. Sect Leader Jin sent for aid.”
“How bad?” Wei Wuxian demanded, panicking.
A pause. “Bad.”
