"Li? You aren't going to bed yet?" Mie pauses at the stairs when she spots Li's silhouette, sitting by the bus's door and just visible against the pitch-black night outside.
"...I'm keeping watch." It takes him a moment to answer, and his voice comes soft and slow. "Waiting for brother to get back from scouting."
"Then I'll stay with you." Mie changes course and sits down beside him. She starts humming, filling the silence, something quiet for the night air, and she's not surprised when Li soon leans against her and drifts off to sleep. "Good night, see you tomorrow."
