Frederick Bulsara cared about the pursuit of science. Sol Badguy does not.
He hates the lab lights, the blaring, the colors, the temperature dials raising sweat and stealing cold. Hates sub-zeroes and flames. The probing and test tubes— it's dog shit.
(It burns, too, but he doesn't show that. The scientists can think he doesn't feel, imagine he does, and hypothesize, theorize, and talk their words. Sol Badguy doesn't care.)
"Subject #19801, pain-scale?" Sol registers the movement— sees lips form into shape, but doesn't hear like he used to.
Yellow flickers up, then away. No.
