The experiment, on the whole, seems to be getting off to a fine start.
Capturing the specimen was difficult, of course. But transferring it to the lab was a different matter. Without water to maneuver in, the specimen was powerless.
Not that the shackles were wasted. It still had hands, after all, which it had briefly used when the saw was taken to its tail. Once restrained, though, and subjected to enough pain, the specimen had apparently given up hope. It rested listlessly, not resisting as its tail was slowly but surely bifurcated.
It'd be the first merman-turned-human!
