"I think I need some help," Peter unceremoniously announced.

"What's the matter," Davy asked, turning toward him. Then, he let out a surprised guffaw.

Peter sat amid a pile of strings of Christmas lights. They'd been turned on, and cast their multihued illumination over him. And he was hopelessly enmeshed among the wires.

"I was trying to untangle them," he explained, "and see if any of the bulbs needed to be replaced."

"You're a piece of work," Davy sighed, coming over to help.

When Mike and Micky came home from running errands, there were two wire-wrapped Monkees awaiting them.
