It was all very strange, Miss Marple mused.  Why had Maud said the intruder had come from the right and not the left as seemed most obvious.  Maud was normally very sensible, and although clearly shaken up, was unlikely to have made such a mistake.  Shaking her head, Miss Marple picked up the two cups of tea she had made and walked from the kitchen to the sitting room where Maud was waiting.  She paused in front of the mirror in the hallway and then realised Maud must have seen the man in the mirror and therefore reversed the direction.
