I'd finally gained the upper hand. It had been my foe's idea to fight on the edge of the cliff; now, he was dangling from the edge of it. He only had himself to blame.
He glared at me, fighting to keep his grip. "You can't kill me," he taunted.
"Brave words, for someone in your position," I shot back.
"I'm not done! If you destroy me, then you'll never be able to defeat...him!"
Sue me; I'm curious.
I hauled my enemy up. "Who are you talking about?"
"No one." He grinned playfully. "Had you going, though, didn't I?"
