Startled, Lina glanced up from her locker. She blinked. What could Anya, the most popular girl in their class, be doing at school so late? And why pay attention to an outcast like Lina? The most that Lina could generally hope to get from her was indifferent silence, which at least was better than bullying.
"Uh, hi," she shyly replied as Anya approached her. Anya's hands were clasped behind her, and she seemed eager about something. "I thought you hated me."
"Really? Well, who says I don't," Anya sweetly asked, seconds before plunging a knife into Lina's chest.
