"I respect you being a vegetarian," Joey told Phoebe as he chomped on a hamburger. "But we're...I think Ross called 'em omnivores? We're supposed to eat stuff like this. There's the food chain. The cow in this burger didn't scream and beg for its life."

"Just because you wouldn't be able to understand it," Phoebe countered, picking at her salad, "doesn't mean the cow wasn't screaming."

He nodded to the salad, stealing a bit of lettuce from her. "At least vegetables don't scream, right? You never hear 'em."

She gave him a haunted look. "Oh, they scream."
