Notes: Mrs. Hudson and Mrs. Turner engage in an age-old debate.
“Call me a heretic,” began Mrs. Turner.
“I certainly shall,” interjected Mrs. Hudson while pouring their tea. She added one sugar for herself and two for her companion.
“I was brought up to speak my mind,” continued Mrs. Turner.
“Were you?”
“Well, no, actually, but I do speak my mind.”
“Well, that’s different.”
Mrs. Turner extended an unobtrusive hand towards the table and quietly rotated the plate of scones so that the very best ones were closest to her friend.
“I just think…”
“Yes?”
“I just think the cream should go first and then the jam!” cried Mrs. Turner.
“Heretic.”
