Harry crouched down under the table, willing himself as small as possible. Even from his hideaway, he could practically feel the ghost's piercing gaze on him, tracking his every movement.

The small sliver of the room he could glimpse from between the tablecloth and an old steamer trunk let him see the locked door splinter from a burst of power. No sooner had it swung open than his view was obstructed by the ghost's back.

“Where is he?!”

“Not here.”

“You're lying, ghost! Lie to me again, and you will suffer.”

Bob's voice was steady, “The boy is not here.”
