Wei Wuxian tossed him the rabbit, and Jiang Cheng automatically caught it. He adjusted his grip to hold it more carefully.

The rabbit wiggled its nose at him but didn’t struggle. Its small body was warm between his hands, and its white fur was so very soft when he stroked it.

Jiang Cheng glanced self-consciously to the side. Wei Wuxian had scooped up another rabbit to tease, of course, but his sister was also smiling delightedly as she cuddled a rabbit in her arms. Maybe it was all right then, as long as no one else was there to see.
