It was the best thing to do and Kira didn't disagree.
Hopefully, he'd never again need its power.
Lacus looked over at him, seemingly knowing his thoughts.
"It will still be here," she said as she reached to rest a hand on his arm. "Nobody ever wants to need to use it, but it will be here, just in case."
"I know," Kira replied. He smiled at her, and then looked again to what would hopefully be the last mobile suit he'd ever need to pilot.
Freedom.
Looking at it for the last time, perhaps.
Time to lock it away.
