Summary: Thrór adds the moon-letters to his map.

Thrór carefully wrote the silver rune-letters, letting the crescent moon light his work.

Nár found him there outside. “What are you doing, my lord?”

Thrór snatched up the map and held it behind his back. “Not for you. Not even you, Nár.”

“But what is it?”

Thrór smoothed out the parchment, angling it away from Nár’s eyes. “If it’s my son, he’ll know. But for Thorin—I had to write it down, to make sure.” Only a few drops of the precious ink left, but it was enough.

He tossed away the empty bottle, letting it shatter on the ground.
