Title: Heart
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Rating: Gen
Notes: Sherlock/John. A discussion of the Shelleys leads to a declaration and an agreement.
“This says,” began John, “Mary Shelley kept the calcified heart of her late husband in a box on her desk.”
Sherlock merely grunted.
“Weird but romantic,” continued John. “As much as I love you, I don’t think I would want your heart in a box on my desk.” He chuckled. “Can you imagine? Your eyeballs, in formaldehyde, staring at me.”
John widened his eyes and looked about.
“You love me?”
“Uh.” John turned pink. “Yeah. Problem?”
“No.” Sherlock looked up and raised an inquiring eyebrow.
“Yes, you can have my heart, Sherlock, but only after I’m dead!”
“Naturally.” Sherlock smiled.
