Notes: Watson goes on the alert.
Every occupation has its hazards. Years of being Boswell, associate, and friend of Sherlock Holmes has made me alert to danger. Being a doctor, and former soldier, adds to the sensitivity.
On summer evening, Holmes and I were taking a ramble when there came a cry from an open window.
“COLLEEN COLLAPSES ON THE COLONNADE!”
My response was immediate. I was ready to spring into action.
“Holmes!”
The cry came again, louder.
“COLLEEN COLLAPSES ON THE COLONNADE!”
“Calm yourself, my dear Watson. Look.” Holmes walked to the doorway and indicated a plaque which read:
Mr. L. L. Logue, Elocution Expertise
