“But, Jane, does anyone do that? Murder someone else over the fortune he might have made that the other did make, over the woman he might have married that the other did marry, over the title he might have secured that the other did secure?”
“Just one, maybe. But all three? It’s clear it was planned a long time ago. He would have had to grow the necessary plants in his greenhouse. No doubt,” Miss Marple coughed, “tending them with the utmost future malice in mind.”
Dolly Bantry made a face.
“Yes,” agreed Miss Marple, “bulbs are easier than people.”
