“John!” called Sherlock, rushing from the kitchen to the sitting room with a saucer in hand. “The eyes in the microwave finally revealed their secrets—”
Sherlock stopped short at the sight of John extended on the sofa, chest rising and falling evenly, expression slack, and a quiet snore about to burst forth.
Sherlock fell silent. His gaze flitted nervously, expectantly from the sleeping figure on the sofa to the pair of orbs on the plate in hand and back. Finally, he sighed.
“It was a rough case. You need your rest. I suppose the news can wait. A bit.”
