"You still have that?" David asked as he gestured to the base guest pass that Dead End had hanging up on a little pinboard in his room. There wasn't much else on it, but there were a few things now- a clipping, a photograph, an earring… And the pass.

"A reminder," Dead End replied before doing what he usually did and distracting David's attention away from anything else that was not him. "Nobody ever asked for it back."

David wrapped an arm around him and pulled him close. "You're much more than a guest."

Dead End laughed.

"Because of you."
