Notes: He isn't worth it.
He was a spook, nothing more or less. He'd been dead before, but this was different. He didn't think he'd be making it back this time, and he almost wouldn't care.
Almost except that, suddenly, death seemed a lot more frightening than anything he'd ever endured before, including Hell. Suddenly all his past misdeeds were catching up to him, and he didn't have Buffy to run to or with whom to distract himself.
She would save him, if she knew. She'd find a way, but it wasn't worth hurting her again. He wasn't worth it. "Don't tell her," he pleaded.
