Notes: Holmes is trying to discover what spooked a horse.
“What are you doing?”
Holmes ignored my question. Mayhap he had no awareness that any query had been directed at him.
“I say, what are you doing, Sherlock Holmes?”
“Oh,” he looked up, “I am trying to ascertain what spooked the horse in the first place.”
“It looks like you’re trying to get yourself crushed by a wheel, a hoof, or a pair of sturdy boots!”
Holmes ignored this as well, shaking his head and rising to his feet. “I can’t discover any natural agent. Having eliminated the improbable…”
“Oh, no!”
“Oh, yes, one must consider…the unnatural.”
“Ghosts!?” I scoffed.
