Notes: A dying mother considers the moments that truly matter.
"The world is full of pain, but it's not the pain or the things that cause it that make the struggle worth it. It's not the battles against the enemies." She paused to cough. Her son cringed as she spat up blood. Gently, he dabbed at her lips.
She caught his hand and held him tight, her eyes gazing directly into his with her last breaths of life. "It's the moments in between, the moments with those we fight for, those we... die for." She was welcomed not just by her husband's reassuring embrace but the rest of their family.
