100ships for prompt 086: shadow. / No warnings (except Annatar lurking ominously in the background, as he does).
Summary: Galadriel has a bad feeling about Annatar.
“Can you give a reason for refusing Annatar?”
“He is hiding something. His presence casts a shadow over my heart.”
“A reason,” Celebrimbor repeats with calm emphasis. "Not fear of shadows.”
It makes Galadriel want to throw something at him. “You don’t usually doubt my foresight,” she says instead. “Are Annatar’s offers so persuasive?”
“This is a matter of the Gwaith-i-Mírdain.” A matter of smithcraft, which means Celebrimbor is being Fëanorianly stubborn.
“I know for certain: he will bring great evil to Eregion.”
“Say rather, great good! We can learn so much from him.”
She knows he will not listen.
