Aisha heard her name and looked up from the last knots of her needlework. Yes, she knew; she'd heard the horses and the voices and everything else.
She was not the girl she once was and would not run out to greet the black prince with gifts of welcome. The years had taught her better.
She would not make him wait, either. As always, there was much to discuss.
Aisha put needle and thread away before setting the finished gift aside. Honestly…
"Send him to me."
The tent flap was pushed aside a moment later.
He'd brought gifts as well.
