Notes: She was finally her own.
She had felt invisible in her parents' world, but she was no longer theirs or invisible. Now, every night, before a stage of anywhere from a few dozen to close to a hundred, she portrayed every man's fantasy. She was theirs while she was on that stage, and while she was there, she finally felt loved, wanted, and desired. She was no longer her parents' baby doll left alone and forgotten, nor was she her ex-husband's battering ram. She was her customers' underneath the lights, but when the lights stopped shining, quitting time came, and she was finally her own.
