"What do you think, Ez?" JD asked hopefully, bouncing on his boots and grinning from ear to ear. He turned the piece of gold carefully around. Sunbeams streaming into the little shop caught the band and made it shine even more. "Is it real?"

"Ah think, JD, that you need to be far more careful in your decisions than a mere piece of gold."

JD stared, slack-jawed, shocked, and disbelieving.

"Marriage is not something that can be taken back or changed. It is a game that should be played only for keeps."

"Oh, I'm keeping Casey!"

"Then buy the ring."
