Wilhe looked to Hilda and bit her lip. What was she to do? Should either of them step in? Should they get Al or Xenon?

Her father and Matilda were trying to cook together again.

"They're not really causing trouble for anyone else," Hilda noted. "We could probably leave them be."

Wilhe wasn't sure that leaving them together unsupervised was a good idea in any way whatsoever, either.

"Do you really want to get between them?" Hilda's expression spoke of a lifetime beside Matilda and after a moment, Wilhe shook her head.

"They'll probably be okay," she said. "There's nothing too odd in those ingredients and they'll probably try to eat whatever they make whether it's sweet or spicy or salty or anything else. There isn't too much, so it's not really wasteful../."

"Xenon will probably eat the rest," Hilda finished.

Yes, that too. Xenon would eventually turn up, especially now that Hilda had said his name. That wouldn't be a bad thing, from Wilhe's point of view. He could at least absorb whatever punishment both her father and Matilda could aim in his direction.

It would save Al the trouble as well.

"He probably will," Wilhe said.
