Buffy looked begrudgingly at the irritating, neutered vampire tied to a chair in front of her.

Vivid memories of the time they’d spent kissing, cuddling, and fondling each other under Willow’s spell were flashing mercilessly before her eyes.

Extremely vivid memories.

As if sensing her thoughts, he suddenly looked back, spearing her with a contemptuous glare.

For a fleeting moment, Buffy felt the loss of his previously loving gaze—which she blamed on lingering effects of that stupid spell.

Desperate to dissimulate her inner turmoil, she made a face at him, idly wondering whether his eyes had always been so blue.
