Title: Last Sight
Author: Zdenka
Fandom: The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien
Rating: T
Characters: Turgon (& Fingon)
Challenge: #358 - blue
Notes/Warnings: Major character death
Summary: Across the field of battle, Turgon desperately tries to see what is happening to his brother.
Morgoth’s forces sweep them apart. Turgon fights stubbornly, making the enemy pay dearly as his host is pushed back. But he cannot help looking across the battlefield, straining with the long sight of the Eldar to see how his brother fares.
The flames of the gathering Balrogs dazzle his eyes, and he blinks to clear his sight.
The blue and silver banner wavers and falls. Though Turgon wills it fiercely, it does not rise again. The enemy hosts sweep in with a hoarse shout of triumph; he sees their weapons rising and falling. He turns his face away in grief.
