Summary: Jackle hardly ever sits still and looks at their cards. They've never frowned while doing so before.

"What do you see in the cards?" asked Reala.

 

Reala had never seen Jackle sit still and look carefully at the cards. Nor had they seen such an intense look of concentration on Jackle's face. Usually they just flew around the room like a caffeinated bat, cackling and throwing their cards with lethal force.

 

Now they looked rather concerned. The cards were arrayed like a tarot spread, one not yet turned over. Reala recognised scattered Ideya gems, a familiar purple jester, a cage of souls, and the Twin Seeds Tower, struck by lightning from King Wizeman's own hands.

 

Reala shivered.
