Buffy emerged from the basement to find Dawn seated at the kitchen table.
She glanced at the clock and frowned. “What are you doing up? It’s late.”
“You’re still up too.”
“Well, I don’t have school tomorrow and I have things to do.”
“Like playing nurse for Spike?” asked Dawn stiffly.
Buffy folded her arms. “He was tortured for days, I’m not playing, Dawn.”
“But he can’t stay! He attacked Andrew, he’s dangerous.”
“The First was controlling him, and I know I can handle that. I won’t let anyone put me in the hot seat for this. Spike’s staying, period.”
